With Bills before Congress and the Senate we appeared poised to enter the next stage of secure Internet commerce as we organized these meetings.  Over 40 States already accepted electronic signatures, but until the latest action by the Federal Government inter-state commerce was held hostage to the enactment of a Federal Standard.  Finally, it would appear we were about to enjoy unprecedented growth in e-commerce as these bills entered committee stage.
